Honda’s First U.S.A Plant: Celebrates 25 Years
The first Japanese plant ever established in the land of brave and free has provided exceptional innovations that placed Honda among the most admired brands in the U.S. For 25 years, their continuing success in the automotive industry has stayed consistent with the wonderful and glorious reputation as the provider of quality and premium vehicles. Today, the first Japanese auto plant to manufacture a car in America celebrates its 25th anniversary! 25 years that drew another highlight in the progress of the U.S. auto industry.
"People are always asking why Honda has been so successful. The answer is simple: our associates. Their involvement and teamwork to achieve the highest quality for our customers and improve our operations have continuously driven us forward to higher levels and greater achievements," says Honda of America President Akio Hamada.
"We have been building cars in Ohio since 1982," he said. "This has been possible because we have grown together with communities like Marysville."
"The Marysville Auto Plant may be 25 years old on the outside, but it is a new plant on the inside. It has always been changing, and there isn't a more flexible plant in the industry with our level of quality and productivity," says Plant Manager Sam Harpest.
